“We, at the Computational
Geometry Lab School of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, study applied
aspects of computational geometry. We have successfully been using our
SOMETHING 3D-1D 3D printer ever since we bought it, about half a year ago, and we are very pleased with the ease-of-use and reliability of the printer. To
date SOMETHING 3D's staff kindly helps us overcome any 3D-printing related
problems we encounter.
Typically 3D printers are used
to create more accurate, reliable, and cost effective prototypes; sometimes
they are even used to manufacture parts of final products. Indeed, we have used
SOMETHING 3D's printer to fabricate various parts of robots we use in our
algorithmic robotics and motion planning research, but that's not all. Thanks to the 3D printer, students can now see and touch real objects that are
used to convey some concepts in computational geometry. This, essentially, gives the phrase ‘Seeing is
believing’ a new meaning.
Yoram Retter – Israel Aerospace Industries:
“SOMETHING 3D is a cutting edge 3D printer which can
offer a wide range of possibilities and it's a typical 'open source’
product. First of all I would like to emphasize the large printing volume : an
impressive 27 cm cube which enables printing very large volume objects without
the need to split them into smaller components. Another advantage is having the
option of using two nozzles: in our case, we usually print ABS parts /models with one, and with second nozzle
print parts for dissolved PVA cores, which is a substance
that dissolves in water. With this method we can shift easily from one raw
material to the other, only adding the glue on the glass surface for the PVA
printing. This arrangement also enables printing other dissolving substances,
which usually cost a lot more using other industrial printers. The bottom line: we
can use one nozzle for regular printing and the other for random tests using
different materials and conditions, which is what we do most of the time.”
Inon Rettig – industrial designer at “baruch nae strategic design”:
“It's been a year since I started using the
SOMETHING 3D printer. I usually use it to print structure models for measures
validation, feasibility study and displays. So far I've used over 20 KG's of
raw material. My model sizes can range from miniature to very large which have to be decomposed into several printed parts. Due to SOMETHING 3D's ability to
print with high resolution I can print these re-assembled parts with a very
high tolerance. Moreover, the high resolution enables minimum finishing effort
for coloring and model display preparations. Besides the high printing quality,
I must say that the best experience for me is the high level of service that I
get from SOMETHING 3D team. I get immediate answers to any question and for any
needed technical support, both on phone and if needed, attending my studio for
assistance.”
Netzer Moriya - Ph.D. – CEO at “siOnet Ltd.”
“Our
company specializes in developing advanced product and technical solutions for
the medical market. As such, we often work with start-up companies under
limited budgets and time tables. Therefore, we use 3D printing for our
models quite frequently. This technology was like created for us…!
When we
searched the market for a suitable 3D printer for us, we soon enough
encountered the Israeli company – SOMETHING 3D. We didn’t save time and
effort in comparing and evaluating the different alternatives regarding all
aspects. We were quite surprised to understand that SOMETHING 3D printing
quality was equal if not better than the other printers. SOMETHING 3D seemed to
be a relatively small company but when we made acquaintance with Dotan and understood his personality and high level of professionalism, we decided to
purchase a SOMETHING 3D printer. The printer has been working
in our company for a few months
almost non-stop. For our needs and for the benefit of our
clients, the printer gives much better results than expected and I will not
exaggerate
if I say that it already gave us back its return on investment !
Following
this good experience, we intend to buy another printer from SOMETHING 3D (the
new generation).
With my
warm recommendations!”
